Philippe travelled extensively since he co-founded the Association of Music & Exploration where he produced his first media works in the early 1990s. His practice subsequently migrated from a journalistic to an artistic approach. He now creates interactive media installations that aim at exploring our perceptions of space in New Media times.

Philippe's educational background is diverse and includes the disciplines of Science and Interactive Media. He has taught Responsive Environments, Game Design and Graphic Design at London Metropolitan University.

2008-2009
Co-author of "HyperTerritory - Frictions of Distance". The work simultaneously exhibited at the Institute of International Visual Arts in London / UK (INIVA) and the French Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh / Cambodia (CCF).

2007-2008
Author of "humans were water" a Video Audio and Water Interactive Art Installation questioning humans' relation to the environment in time. This project was exhibited in CCF (Centre Culturel Francais) Siem Reap - Angkor City / Cambodia.

2006-2007
Author of Green Decibels, an oral petition against Global Warming.

2005-2006
Author of   "Samples of the Ghats / BollyPlage" a responsive installation / sensitive documentary (www.samplesof.net), that allows you to re-create the atmosphere of Haridwar/India by interaction. This work was exhibited in Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie/Paris and at the Accelerator/London.

1997-2001
Author of "Atlantide dans 1 bouteille" (+ download), a novel in which 2 young and naive travelers write about their trip in Atlantis. A place they never came back from, for it does not exist...

1994-1998
Author and co-author of Video, Photo and Sound works in Central African and Central Asia.

2010
Creator of longitude104, a Video Exchange Blog between students learning French in Irkoutsk (Russia) and Siem Reap (Cambodia).

2008
Co-editor and designer of a book on health issues dedicated to youths from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam within the framework of VALEASE (Promotion of Writing in South East Asia) programme.

2007
In charge of developing an exhibition space at London Metropolitan University and coordinating its first student show (www.b-39.net).

2006-2007
Lecturer for the New Media department at London Metropolitan University where I taught interactive environment, web design and graphic design.

2005-2006
Freelance work in various arts projects including vinst project (www.ewaeckerle.com) and re-possessed project (www.re-possessed.com).

In charge of media projects for the International Affairs Department (DAI) at the French National School of Public Health (Former ENSP, Now EHESP). Among others, Coordinator and Designer of a CD-rom collection dedicated to European Cross-Border Cooperation in the field of health, Web Site Project Manager (Europhamili, DAI intranet) and Editor of the Europhamili Newsletters.

1999-2000
Member of Cridev, a NGO involved in North-South relations. Co-Editor of a Newspaper on Cairo for a Cinema Festival.

1994-1998
Co-founder and president of the "Association Musique & Exploration" which aimed at discovering countries through their music. Projects in Central African Republic and Kazakhstan. Work involved Fund Raising, Video-Documentary and Photo Works, Article Writings (for Ouest-France newspaper) as well as the organization of a series of exhibitions in Schools and Art Galleries.

Course addresses Media Practice, Media Theory and Media Management.

Concerning Media Softwares, I use Max-MSP-Jitter, Processing, Flash, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Quark X-press, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Maya.

Others skills are Photo, Video and Project Management.

Language wise, from fluently to badly, I can speak French, English, Spanish, Russian and Khmer.
